Chelle in her bakery

Our Story

Ciao, I'm Chelle.

For me, baking has never been just about what comes out of the oven. It's about where I come from.

I grew up in an Italian-American family on Long Island, New York, where food was our love language. My grandparents lived right upstairs, which meant some of my earliest memories are tied to the sounds and smells coming from their kitchen.
My grandmother was the heart of it all. She was always thinking about the next meal — breakfast, lunch, dinner, or the Sunday gathering that brought everyone together around a pot of slow-simmered sauce.
But the holidays were when her kitchen truly came alive. Every Christmas it became our own little Italian bakery: sesame seed cookies, S cookies, biscotti, anise cookies, and recipes passed from one generation to the next.
I watched her make them with so much love and pride. I didn't know it then, but she was teaching me far more than how to bake. She was showing me that food can carry memories, preserve traditions, and bring people together.

Le Cordon Bleu

That passion eventually took me to Le Cordon Bleu, where I trained as both a pastry chef and a chef. I learned the precision, technique, and craft behind exceptional food — but the reason behind what I create never changed.

The technique came from culinary school. The heart came from home.

And then, Baked.

Today, when I make one of my grandmother's recipes, I still feel connected to her and to the traditions I grew up with. Baked. By Chelle was created to share that feeling with you — through authentic flavors, handcrafted pastries, cakes, cookies, and recipes that have a story behind them.

Some of the best things in life aren't simply made. They're passed down.
